Client organisation & its challenge

Buddy Healthcare is a Finnish based digital health company automating hospital care coordination and patient communication processes. Company’s BuddyCare platform includes a patient facing mobile application and care personnel‘s monitoring dashboard. Platform adapted and integrated into existing hospital care process substantially improves effectiveness and efficiency of hospital operations and patient satisfaction.

In 2018 mobile applications in hospital patient communication were relatively new phenomena. Buddy Healthcare had several projects running with Finnish major hospitals while also starting up operating internationally.

In order to manage future growth Buddy Healthcare wanted to improve and standardize BuddyCare platform deployment process with clients teams. The target was that the platform would be ready for patient piloting in shorter time while also Buddy Healthcare resources could be used more efficiently. The company also wanted to integrate lean thinking in collaborative work with their hospital clients.

Role of Saramis Oy

As an outside change and lean expert, role of Saramis Oy was to support Buddy Healthcare team in improving and standardising deployment process of BuddyCare Platform by eliminating waste of resources and identifying improved ways of working. 

The key target for Saramis was to ensure that Buddy Healthcare has a standardised process that can be implemented in set target weeks. As a change management expert Sari also highlighted collaborative and lean leadership elements between Buddy Healthcare and its hospital clients.
