Medication process is an error prone process. It requires collaboration and standard work between doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other sourcing and warehousing personnel. Advancing technology provides new opportunities to improve safety.
Vantaa is the fourth largest municipality of Finland with some 235 000 inhabitants. Katriina Hospital with some 160 beds and 7 departments is part of Vantaa Hospital organisation. Most patients consist of elderly people and continuous development of care and rehabilitation by multiprofessional teams of doctors, nurses, therapists, and social nurses is at the core of operations.
